Allah SWT blessed me with a disease

Posted on November 7th, 2010 in Brother M´s,Brother M´s point of view by Brother M

In the name of Allah SWT

In my early days, the days before Allah SWT planted a seed off faith in my heart, I was very lost.

Everything I did went against the laws of Allah SWT. I didn´t eat pork, but the food I ate came from Haram ‘(forbidden) money, My job, my friends, my entire world was meaningless. I only lived to have fun. My life was empty.

I worked at a place which is very haram. I only worked on night shifts, so I slept during the days. All my friends worked either with me or at other places, but they were practically my only friends. As soon as they got a chance, they took me with them to forbidden places. I was very weak for women, and in that line of business I met alot of them.

So the money I Eearned was haram, my friends lead me to haram places, andI was very weak for women and I drank haram substances,

Suddenly, in the year 2007, I parked my car, and when I lifted up my leg to get out of my car, something happened. I felt this great pain racing through my entire body, and I couldnt move. It took me forever to walk to my parents house. The pain I felt was undiscriable. The pain only became worse with the time, and in october 2008, they operated on me. I had a slipped disk, and they had to operate immediately.

But something amazing happened to me, and I realisied it very quickly. Because of the slipped disk I had to quit my job. And since I didn´t work during the nights, I became a daily person. The problem was that all my friends slept during the days, so I was completely cut out of their friendship.

Because of the painkillers, I had to give up the forbidden substances, and because of my condition I couldnt go to haram places any more. At the same time, I stopped meeting women because of my condition and because I had to quit my job, and that was where I met them.

So now I was completely cut out of forbidden places, forbidden substances, friends who drew me to forbidden things, and also I stopped meeting women. My entire life changed and my previous world was c0mpletely vaporised. I couldn´t do anything haram even if I wanted to.

And thats when I saw a sign from Allah SWT, and from that day my entire life changed.

I got married, and my wife and I were talking about how important it is that we both commit one hundred percent to Allah SWT. And during this conversation I was eating youghurt in a bowl. When I finished eating it, I was puzzled of what was written at the bottom of the bowl. At first I thought it was just randomly, but it was written like someone wrote it with a pen.

At the bottom of the bowl, it said Allah, with a circle around it. I didn´t know how to react, and I had now stared at the bowl for quite some time. I called my parents and told them about itm because I didn´t know what to do. I was very puzzled.

But inside my heart I felt this light, and at the same time I felt great regret for everything I had ever done. I cant hold back my tears even now while im typing. My life changed to the better that day, and I wish I could go back and change everything.

I hope that I was able to reach out to your hearts, and my only wish is that my experience can help other lost souls. This world is less than the drip of water a needle drops when its dipped into the ocean, compared to the next life.

I urge you to read about the punishment of the grave, so I will send it out also to you.

On monday the doctors will inshallah operate on me again because of my slipped disk. The first surgery in 2008 failed, so they have to do it again. I ask of you to please remember me in your Du´aa, and pray for me that the operation will work this time. Jazakomolaho Kheir my brothers and sisters.

This came from the bottom of my heart. In the name of Allah SWT, thank you for your time.

Assalamo Aleikom

Do you know how you are created? How can we really approve of ourselves when we dont even know how Allah SWT created us? Did you know that scientists discovered the last century what the Quran revealed over 1400 years ago? And the details are so specific, that it is so exact that it is overwhelming!

The Fetus in the Quran!

What if I died right there and then?

Posted on May 14th, 2010 in 100 SUNAN by Brother M

It struck me while I was doing tasbeeh after a prayer; What if I died right there and then, and was pulled into the grave? What would my outcome be? What if I thought ive done so good, but when I end up in the grave I find out that it is the exact opposite? Even though I pray five times a day, read quran every day, go to the mosque a few times a day, give zakat and so on, doesnt mean that I will automatically go to Paradise and “evade” the punishment of the grave. These are basic rules we have to follow, but there are much more things we need to do as Muslims.

The problem is that most Muslims doesnt even do most of the things I mentioned. Other than these well known basic obligations, there are other obligations we need to pay attention too, because they might be the difference between Paradise and Hell. One of these obligations is that we must take care of our neighbours and be nice to them. If not, then we might go to Hell. If there are poor people living next to you and they have nothing to eat, while you have plenty to eat, then you must feed them too. If not, then you might go to Hell. (I use the word “might” because Allah SWT is the only decider, and He is the only one who knows the outcome of our lives.)

Islam covers our entire lives, including our social behaviour. It is not enough with just prayers, we must set good examples as Muslims. Islam is best taught by behaviour, not by words. It might be hard to change all of our wrong behaviours at once, but we should still change them one by one.

Think about it my sisters and brothers. If you keep doing something bad or illegal, you will keep doing it until you get caught. When you do, and you understand how wrong it was in reality, then you will beg for a second chance. You might even get a second chance, and now you will never do it again! People who get out of prison say the same thing; ” I am never going back again! ” But in death, we do not have that chance! Do you think that the Angels Harut and Marut (read more about them in Trials of the grave) will feel for you in your grave? You wont get any second chances in death! And the sad truth is, that if you dont pray or uphold most or any of the Islamic laws, and you feel that you will probably go to Hell, then there is a big chance that you are probably right.

We can always hope that Allah SWT will put us in Paradise, even though we belong in Hell. But if you dont bring anything to the table, then you shouldnt keep youre hopes up! Even the Prophets feared going to Hell, so why are we so confident about our selves? We need to do better, and we need to start changing our selves! Read the 100 Sunan. If the Prophet Muhammad SAS stood infront of you right now, do you think He would be pleased with you? Of course not..

That is why we must start to change our selves.

The importance of Prayer!

Posted on May 9th, 2010 in Brother M´s by Brother M

The Importance of

Prayer!

Omar bin Khattab RA was sitting with a bunch of people, and he was talking about how important the prayers are. One of the men asked Him RA “What about those who only pray four times a day instead of five?” Omar RA answered “We are talking about Muslims now, let us stick to the subject!

Omar RA was very clear about how important the prayer is. It is so important, that there is a punishment in hell for those who only prays four times a day! A angel will throw or drop a big rock on your head, so it will be crushed. He will do this over, and over, and over again.

For those who pray all the prayers, or only a few of them, but their intentions are not towards Allah SWT, their real intentions are to show people how good they are, or to show people that they are praying. These people will be dragged with their faces on the ground in hell by two Angels, subhanallah.

Do you know how important the prayer is? Muhammad SAS went up to heaven, through the seven heavens, and he recieved the prayers dircetly from Allah SWT. Muhammad SAS is very clear about those who doesnt pray. They are not considered Muslims. You have probably heard some people say that they dont need to fulfill their obligations like the prayers, because they are Muslims and they will go to Hell, but eventually they will go to Paradise. They are wrong on so many levels, but let us focus on the prayers.

Since Allah SWT and the Prophet Muhammad SAS said that if you dont pray, then you are not a Muslim. If you die during this period of ignorance in your life without making “Taubaa” (repent himself to Allah SWT for all his sins), then you, and Allah SWT knows best, will die as a non-Muslim. If you die as a non-Muslim, then you will recieve the same punishments as other non-Muslims will recieve!

My brothers and sisters, If you love Allah SWT and his prophet Muhammad SAS, and you worship them and you belive everything they say, then you need to understand how important the prayers are! Muhammad SAS said that the difference between us and non-Muslims are our prayers. So the ones who does not pray are not even considered Muslims! This is very important, because some of you, my brothers and sisters, can relate to this state of mind, and you might get offended by what I am saying. Please, dont be. I am only saying what Allah SWT and his Prophet Muhammad SAS said.

Instead of being mad, remember Allah SWT, remember Paradise, remember Hell! Do you feel close to Allah SWT? Do you feel close to Paradise? Do you feel close to Hell? In your opinion, are you closer to Paradise than you are to Hell? What do you feel? The prayers are the best five things you can do every day! If you pray right and focused, you will Inshallah feel a great connetion to Allah SWT!

If this is your last day ( Lasamaha Allah), and you know that you will leave us tomorrow, what would you do? Would you continue living your life as you are living it now? Or would you fall down on your knees and prostrate to Allah SWT and ask Him SWT for forgiveness for all your sins? Would you read Quran until your final hour? Would you pray until the Angel of death comes to take youre soul? Now tell me my brothers and sisters, when is your final hour? Do you know when you will leave us? 10 years? 1 year? 1 week? 1 day? 1 hour? Can you really tell me when your final hour will arrive? Do you really want to gamble with the rest of your existence?

One important thing, before I stop writing this very long post…If you repent while you are diying, or you know that you are about to die, it will not be accepted…Just like with the Pharao when he asked for forgiveness just moments before the river would fall down on him and drown him. So we have to ask for forgiveness every day! Under the catagory “Duaas and their Ajr” there are a few duaas you can pray, which will give you Hasanat (good deeds), and much more! You will Insallah like it!

I really hope that I, Inshallah, was able to reach out to my brothers and sisters, and if only one person starts to pray, then I thank Allah SWT for helping me reach out to that person!

Assalamo Aleikom my Brothers & Sisters

The importance of Brotherhood!

Posted on May 8th, 2010 in Brother M´s by Brother M

It is written in many of the verses in the Holy Quran that all muslims are brothers,

and they must act and remain in the spirit of unity and solidarity.

Here is a few of the verses ;

[49:10] The believers are members of one family; you shall keep the peace within your family and reverence GOD, that you may attain mercy.

( explanation of this verse : ” And if two parties among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both. But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which outrages till it complies with the command of Allah. Then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily, Allah loves those who are the equitable.) (10. The believers are but a brotherhood. So make reconciliation between your brothers, and have Taqwa of Allah that you may receive mercy. ” )

[3:103] You shall hold fast to the rope of GOD, all of you, and do not be divided. Recall GOD’s blessings upon you – you used to be enemies and He reconciled your hearts. By His grace, you became brethren. You were at the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you therefrom. GOD thus explains His revelations for you, that you may be guided.

( explanation of this verse : “  And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah, and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah’s favor on you, for you were enemies of one another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His grace, you became brethren, and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat clear to you, that you may be guided. ” )

[8:1] They consult you about the spoils of war. Say, “The spoils of war belong to GOD and the messenger.” You shall observe GOD, exhort one another to be righteous, and obey GOD and His messenger, if you are believers.

( explanation of this verse : ” They ask you about Al-Anfal (the spoils of war). Say: “Al-Anfal are for Allah and the Messenger.” So have Taqwa of Allah and settle all matters of difference among you, and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you are believers. “ )

[8:46] You shall obey GOD and His messenger, and do not dispute among yourselves, lest you fail and scatter your strength. You shall steadfastly persevere. GOD is with those who steadfastly persevere.

( explanation of the verse : ” And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength departs, and be patient. Surely, Allah is with the patients  ” )

[59:10] Those who became believers after them say, “Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who preceded us to the faith, and keep our hearts from harboring any hatred towards those who believed. Our Lord, You are Compassionate, Most Merciful.

( explanation of the verse : “   And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in faith, and put not in our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful. ” )

[8:73] Those who disbelieved are allies of one another. Unless you keep these commandments, there will be chaos on earth, and terrible corruption.

( explanation of the verse : “ And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you (Muslims) do not do so (protect one another), there will be Fitnah on the earth, and great corruption “ )

[49:9]If two groups of believers fought with each other, you shall reconcile them. If one group aggresses against the other, you shall fight the aggressing group until they submit to GOD’s command. Once they submit, you shall reconcile the two groups equitably. You shall maintain justice; GOD loves those who are just.

( explanation of the verse : “  And if two parties among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both. But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which outrages till it complies with the command of Allah. Then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily, Allah loves those who are the equitable ” )

[3:105] Do not be like those who became divided and disputed, despite the clear proofs that were given to them. For these have incurred a terrible retribution.

( explanation of the verse : “ And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment “ )

- – - -

We all belong to the same “Ummah”, to the same brotherhood. We are all connected, even through blood. That is why it is forbidden for us to be upset with somebody for more than three days ! Allah SWT has said that if someone treats you bad, even if your wife cheats on you, you should forgive her and them. You will Inshallah get a lot of ajr, and you will feel like a stone has been lifted of your chest. Like you cleansed you’re heart, subhanallah.

The devils use every single chance they get to make you do things that are forbidden. Their strongest “tools” are when you are sad, mad and so on, because you are very vulnerable those moments. When you are upset, the devils say things like ” You dont need to pray now, because you are very sad/upset, so wait until you feel better, it is ok. ” This was only one example, which I think a lot of people can relate too.

If you stop talking to one of you’re brothers or sisters, without any good religious reasons, then you have done something that is forbidden. If you’re friend is a Muslim, and you just broke the contact with each other, without any religious reasons, you will not enter Paradise, andAllah SWT knows best !

Do you understand how important the bound between Muslims is? It is extremely important! If you have broken any bounds with you’re Muslim friends, then contact them. If they don’t want to talk to you, then you have completed your obligations, and you’re friend will carry the entire burden. And you will Inshallah get a lot of ajr for doing so too, Subhanallah !

My brothers and sisters, if your goal is to go to Paradise and avoid the Hell-fire, then you have to understand one thing ; If you dont complete your obligations, like contacting people you have wrongfully broken the contact with and so on. Dont you think that it is worth it to go to Paradise, if you just have to call the Muslim brothers and sisters you have broken the contact with? Subhanallah, this entire world is like a drop of water in the ocean compared to Paradise ! Trust me, it is worth it !

I hope Inshallah that this post will open up youre heart and that you will understand the importance of brother- and sisterhood, and the bounds between all of us.

Assalamo Aleikom my brothers and sisters !

We Cannot Judge

Posted on May 3rd, 2010 in Brother M´s point of view by Brother M

  Why Do We Judge?

Did you know that it is forbidden to judge a person? Omar bin Khattab RA saw two persons fornicate, and he couldnt say a word about it. Only Allah SWT can judge us, because He is the ultimate ruler. This doesnt mean that wrongdoers get more free-space now to break the laws of Allah SWT, this only means that we can only advise eachother to do better, but we can never judge anyone for their sins.

Judging people has become a social rule, we judge everyone all the time. The greatest social rule of judging is called “the first impression”. We look at a person, and we judge him or her based on a brief moment, and then we stick by that impression of that person and we either like him or dis-like him.We dont even take time our time to learn the truth about the people, it is to much work. When we see people committing sins, we hardly let those happenings pass us by un-noticed.

There is a very important reason to why we cant judge eachother. Take yourself as an example: Do you commit your sins, no matter how big or small they are, on the majority of your days, or the minority? If you have spent an entire day just doing good deeds, and then you walk out and commit a sin of any kind, and people see these sins, then you would not like them to judge you based on that one act. It would not be fair. Allah SWT knows what you have in your heart, and we, the people, dont know!

You must always put yourself in the shoes of others. Judging other people may taste like honey in this world, but it will cause us great suffering in the next. Remember this my Sisters & Brothers; Only Allah SWT has the right to judge His own creations.

A reality-check

Posted on April 29th, 2010 in Brother M´s by Brother M

Do you love your parents?

Do you love your husband or wife?

If that or those persons asked you to do something for them, would you listen to them?

If they set up rules for you, and told you to never cross those lines, would you cross them?

How much patience would they have with you if you crossed those lines?

If you spit on the face of your parents, how easily would they forgive you?

Would they forgive you right away, or would you have to work hard for their forgiveness?

Would you cross those lines right infront of them?

Would you, after have been caught, continue to cross those lines?

How much respect do you think you show your parents when you treat them like this?

If your husband or wife cheated on you, how would you react?

If that person fell down on his or her knees and asked for your forgiveness, would you accept it?

And if that person cheated on you again after asking for your forgiveness, right infront of you, would you forgive that person again?

And if that person cheats on you again infront of you, would you forgive them again?

Now who is more important, US or Allah SWT?

Who is it that holds our souls in HIS hands, if not Allah SWT?

Who is it that can give us blessings or hard-times in life, if not Allah SWT?

We fear our parents more than we fear Allah SWT these days..

We fear to hurt the feelings of our beloved ones more than we fear to anger Allah SWT..

Why are we a bunch of hypocrites, when we claim that we only care of the opinion of Allah SWT, when we stand infront of the mirror for hours everyday, making sure that we look good for society?

How can we pretend to fear Allah SWT, when we eat and drink of what HE has forbidden for us?

How can we pretend to fear Allah SWT, when ignore our obligations against HIM?

If someone holds your life in their hands, and they demand of you to do some certain things, you would most probably do what is expected of you. If you dont, then they will take your life. Would you fear them more than you fear Allah SWT?

Do you value the opinions of the creations of Allah SWT, more than you value the opinion of Allah SWT himself?

Why do you feel so confident of yourself when it comes to your disobidience? Do you think you are the one who will get lucky and go to paradise without ever working hard for it?

Do you really think that it exists such a person, someone who will get lucky?

What is your goal with this life, if not to go to Paradise?

Then ask yourself, my sisters and brothers…what do you stand closer to right now, Paradise or Hell..?

Knowledge is the only thing that will bring you closer to Paradise, and lack of knowledge brings you closer to Hell. This is because that if you had enough knowledge about something, then you would stay away from what is forbidden….

The Prophet Muhammad SAS said, “Whoever possesses the following three qualities will taste the sweetness of faith:

1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle become dearer than anything else.

  1. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah’s sake.
  2. Who hates to revert to disbelief (Atheism) after Allah has brought (saved) him out from it, as he hates to be thrown in fire.”

Just a simple word..

Posted on April 23rd, 2010 in Brother M´s point of view by Brother M

Why is it that we, the new generation of young Muslims, dis-obey Allah SWT so openly, so nonchalant? Why do we feel that it is ok to call ourselves “Muslims”, without fulfilling our obligations as Muslims? I can hardly call myself a lawyer, without a law-degree? I cant call myself a pilot when I have never flown a plane in my entire life? And I cant call myself a Muslim when I hardly, or don’t pray at all. When I don’t fast, don’t give zakat, when I don’t control my inner needs and so on. The list is long, but Islam comes as a package! You either take it or leave it! And when you choose to ignore one part of your requirements, then you have chosen to ignore Islam as a religion! It is that easy my brothers and sisters..

Think about it. If you were born 100 years ago, would your values be different from what they are today? If you are a Muslim, then the answer should be “No, I would have had the same values.” Then why have they changed? Islam didn´t change, the Quran didn´t change, nothing changed? it remains as it was completed over 1400 years ago, so why the sudden change of values? Islam is perfect, and it will never change, and when you choose to follow Islam, you adopt the most beautiful and respectable values there is. The Prophet Muhammad SAS was like a “walking Quran”, because of his values. And every Muslim who follows Islam and upholds its laws and rules, he automatically adopts these values. You will become respected, loved and reliable. You will Inshallah realise that this life is only a simple stop on our true journey.

Let us compare our behaviour to something we can easier understand. If we have homework to do, and we never hand them in, then that will affect our grades negatively, right? Then we have even more homework, but we never care to do them. So once again our grades are affected negatively. But we get one more chance to improve our grades by taking a test. But we never take the test, so we automatically failed test. Now, what is the outcome of this behavior? What kind of grades should we expect to get? We got the lowest grades possible.

Now, in the real world, when we don’t do our jobs, we fail. So how come that people can go around and think that they can do whatever they want, as long as they call themselves for Muslims. Really? So all it takes to go to paradise is to call yourself a Muslim..? Really? You don’t need to pray? All you need is a good heart? So you know something the Prophet Muhammad SAS didn’t know? So I guess that Allah SWT fooled the Prophet Muhammad SAS when he gave HIM the prayers after bringing HIM up to the heavens, and told HIM that everyone who doesn’t pray is not a Muslim? So all it really takes is to say a few simple words; “I am a Muslim.” Now you will go to Paradise? Does this even make sense to you at this point? How long will it take for you to understand that you are only fooling yourself?

We cant hurt Allah SWT no matter what we do, but Allah SWT holds our souls in HIS hands. HE can take our lives whenever HE wishes too. I haven’t spoken to one Muslim who didn’t want to learn more about Islam. So what are you waiting for my brothers and sisters. If you would die today (Lasamaha Allah), where do you think you would go? Think about it? Would your actions in this life bring you closer to Paradise or closer to Hell? If the answer is “Hell”, then you should probably do something about it. You have until you close your eyes for good to regret and ask for forgiveness. But do you know when you will die? Do you really want to keep taking that chance?

Why do we care about this world, when it is the next one we should be concerned about?! Do you really want to go to Hell? Your actions don’t lie, when you don’t pray and so on, you are actually walking down a path, that goes directly to Hell. So your actions say that you want to go to Hell, but your tongue says something completely different?! So Which one is it, my brothers and sisters? You’ve got “Paradise” or “Hell”….choose one!

“How do I stop to sin?”

Posted on April 22nd, 2010 in Brother M´s by Brother M

A man came up to Ibrahim ibn Adham and asked him a question; “My “Nafs” (the

ego) keeps making me commit sins, so I come to you for advise. How can I be free from my “Nafs” negative affect on me, so I can stop to sin against Allah SWT!?” Ibrahim answered; “When your “Nafs” tries to make you commit a sin against Allah SWT, you may submit to its will, on a few conditions.” What are the condition?” the man asked him. Ibrahim said; “When you are about to sin, make sure to do it on a place where Allah SWT cant see you.” The man said; “Subhanallah – how can I do that, when Allah SWT can see everything, and HE can see me wherever I am?!” Then Ibrahim further said; “When you are about to sin, make sure that you are not doing it on any soil belonging to Allah SWT.” The man said;” But how can I do that, when the entire earth, and the soil on it, belongs to Allah SWT!?”

Ibrahim continued; “When you are about to sin, do not eat or drink anything that Allah SWT has given to you.” The man said; “But doesnt everything come from Allah SWT!?” Then Ibrahim said; “When you are about to sin, and when the angels (after you die) takes you to the hell-fire, dont go with them.” The man said; “Subhanallah, how could I do anything else but to go with them!?” It is impossible to oppose them!” Ibrahim continued; “When you read the book you will recieve on Judgement Day, the book over all your deeds, dont admit to any of your sins.” Subhanallah, Subhanallah! How can I do that, when “kiramun-katibun”, the angels that writes down everything I do on my shoulders, and all of the other witnesses will be there to testify against me!?!?

Then Ibrahim ibn Adham said; “Then why dont you feel shame when you sin against Allah SWT, when you know that HE can see you? HE gave you life and HE fed you? He gave you your health and your strength?” Then the man started to cry, and through his tears, he said this; “I promise by Allah SWT, that from now on I am going to stop to be disobedient against HIM!”

Aisha(as), the Youngest Wife of The Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)

Posted on April 22nd, 2010 in Brother M´s by latinamuslimusa

The prophet(pbuh) had 10 beautiful wives. Aisha, the youngest, was the only virgin he married. The others were not virgins, widowed, and divorced. Aisha was the daughter of Abu Bakr(pbuh), a close companion of the prophet(pbuh). The marriage established a close public alliance between the two. It was clear in the hadith that she was extremely ecstatic and privilaged for the opportunity to marry the prophet(pbuh).

Roman Church, Europe, UK, and 19th Century U.S Marriage Laws:
Marriage at the early age of 7 (considered the “age of reason”) or directly after puberty. Adulthood is defined as soon as puberty occurs. During the Renaissance children were considered as “little adults” and that is why they dressed them in adult clothing as soon as they were out of diapers. They left their toys and playtime to work at the age of 7 or 8, a sign of readiness to make their own money. Wealthier girls received a limited education. Few women received an education equal to that of males. Males were accepted into the military at the age of 7 or 8.

1300 years earlier, Islamic law:
Marriage at the age of 9 (2 years higher) and requires parent’s consent even after the age of 12. Adulthood is defined when puberty occurs. Equal education opportunity is established for both wealthy girls and boys to orphans alike. (Very important role of Aisha, the prophet’s pbuh youngest wife.)  Males are accepted to join the military at age 15, no less.

It was not uncommon to have multiple wives at the times of New/Old Testament and the revelation of the Quran. This was so that alliances could be established between tribes with common political/religious values.  It was also common for very old men to marry young virgins. Abraham and King David, for example, both married young virgins – but the exact age I’m not certain. At the ripe age of 86 Abraham(pbuh) consumated with Hagar, a young virgin. Mary was 12-14 years of age and Joseph was 90 years old when they were married. The prophet(pbuh) was under 50 years of age at the time of his marriage to Aisha. At the times of New and Old Testament, young girls were married away at such a young age without their consent. Their willingness to marry the older men made no difference, but rather they were commanded to do so.

There are many factors that determine the age of Aisha(pbuh) when she became married to the prophet(pbuh). First came the Niqah, which was like the engagement. Aisha could have been between 19 and 21 years old at that time. Aisha was only allowed into the house to be with the prophet(pbuh) when she gave up playing, which is an action demonstrating her readiness. The misconception with the age of Aisha because the text of the Hadith was written by companions of the prophet(pbuh) according to Islamic law and academic – not historical.

This delicate matter of Aisha’s young age became of very little concern to me when I embraced Islam – for that reason I feel that Aisha posessed all of the qualities to carry out the mission of Islam during and after the life of the prophet(saas) Such a person must have the following qualities:
an excellent, precise memory to retain a vast amount of detail accurately,
the understanding to grasp the significance and the principles of the teachings,
powers of reasoning, criticism and deduction to resolve problems on the basis of those teachings,
the skills to convey knowledge to a wide range of audience,
and, finally, have the prospect of living for a considerable period of time after the death of the Holy Prophet in order to spread his message to distant generations.
She not only quoted his sayings and reported her observations of events, but interpreted them to provide solutions to questions. Whenever necessary, she corrected the views of the greatest of the Companions of the Holy Prophet. She made rulings and judgments on which Islamic law is based.
The prophet(pbuh) is quoted saying, in reference to Aisha, “You can get half your religion from this rosy-cheeked girl.”
Aisha later became the favorite wife of the prophet(pbuh). It was on her lap that he died(saas), and under her house he was burried. She lived 6 decades after the death of the prophet(pbuh) and played a very important key role in Islam and contributed much to Islamic law. She established the foundations for an education for all boys and girls, focusing that orphans would have the same opportunity. It is clear that from the start of Islam a women’s role in the education and justice of a society was very important.

Tasbih beads and “Dhikr” Reciting the 99 Names of Allah

Posted on April 22nd, 2010 in Brother M´s by latinamuslimusa

If you are not making the 5 perscribed daily prayers, first you should go to make an abolution before using the Tasbih prayer beads. Eventhough you can use your Tasbih beads anywhere at any time you should try to do it in a peaceful place at first to help you focus. InshAllah(God willing) your rememberance of Allah will increase.

What does one do when memorizing anything? I remember I used to have to memorize lines for school plays back in the day. I would sit for an hour or 2 at a time completely dedicated to my memorization at the age of 7 or 8. Any small distraction could result in breaking concentration and result im memorization lost.

Before using my Tasbih beads, I take a glass of water and sit in my home where I can relax. Best time for me is after Fajr(morning) prayer. I sit down in a chair next to a table and hold the beads in my right hand. I have a glass of water on the table to drink just incase. The whole point is to feel comfortable and have few distractions to increase memorization. InshAllah.

I begin by holding the Tasbih in my right hand and the first bead between my thumb and pointer finger. I recite 1 of the 99 names of Allah 3 times. When I am done, I will move to the next one and continue like this until I have completed all 99 names and have reached the last bead of my Tasbih. Often I will desire to keep going and will for an hour at times. I may want to say one of Allah’s(swt) names all 99 times instead of saying all each of the 99. I focus on my breathing and I drink water.

“Allah Almighty said “I am as My servant expects Me to be. I am with him if he remembers Me. If he remembers Me to himself, I would remember him to Myself. And if he remembers Me in a gathering, I would remember him in a gathering, which is even better. And if My servant draws near to Me by a hand’s span, I would draw near to him by an arm’s length and if he draws near to Me by an arm’s length, I would draw near to him by a fathom’s length. And if My servant comes to me walking, I would go to him speeding.” (Narrated by Bukhari)

Hadrah’s are gatherings of people to discucss Islam and remember Allah(swt) through performing the many types of ”Dhikr”. Although some Muslims do not use Tasbih beads and prefer to use their hands or some other form of Dhikr (rememberance of Allahswt) It is Sufi tradition to use Tasbih beads as to bring rememberance of Allah by His 99 names. How and whether or not a Muslim uses Tasbih beads depends on the Muslim’s tradition. The Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) did not use Tasbih beads.

WHO CREATED ALLAH?

Posted on April 22nd, 2010 in Mixed Questions by latinamuslimusa

Bismillah Arahman Araheem (In the name of Allah, the Beneficant, the Merciful).

Question: If God created everything than who created God?

Answer: According to the Quran, God tells us that He is the only creator and sustainer of all that exists and that nothing and no one exists alongside Him, nor does He have any partners. He tells us that He is not created nor is he like his creation in any way. He calls Himself by a number of names, but 3 of them are:

1) The First (Al-Awal)

2) The Last (Al-Akhir)

3) The Eternal, who is sought after by His creation while He has no need from them at all. (As-Samad)

He has always existed and He was never created, as He is not like his creation, nor similar to it in any way.

Why do we pray?

Posted on April 21st, 2010 in THE PRAYERS by Brother M

The prayers was the first kind of worship Allah SWT made mandatory for us Muslims. Allah SWT orders us in several placen in the Quran to pray.

[4:103]” Once you complete your Contact Prayer (Salat), you shall remember GOD while standing, sitting, or lying down.”

[2:238] You shall consistently observe the Contact Prayers, especially the middle prayer, and devote yourselves totally to GOD.

It is a way for us to show Allah SWT that we worship him and submit to him. Through the prayer, we praise and thank Allah SWT for his generousity, and we ask Allah SWT for help. The Quran says that we should seek help in the Salat (prayers), We ask Allah SWT to guide us and lead us to the right way, and we can also ask for forgiveness for our sins.

The Salat (prayer) is the first subject on the judging menu on Judgmenent day. The Prophet Muhammad SAS reminded us about it in his last speach; “O, Muslims. The prayer, the prayer..” We have to be very careful with the prayers and never ignore them. We should try our very best to pray them on the given time! The prayer is the only thing that seperates us from the non-Muslims, the unfaithful ones. So in other words, if you leave the prayers, you are actually leaving Islam..

The union between them and us is the prayer. Him who stops with it becomes most certainly a kafir – unfaithful.” (Ahmed,Thirmidhi,Nisai, ibn Majah)

It is so important to pray, that we are even obligated to pray even when we are traveling or sick. The Prophet SAS liked very much to pray. It was a joy for him, and it gave him some peace of mind. That is exactly how we all should feel about the prayers. The prayers are like a reflection of our deeds. If our prayings are in a “good” condition, then so are our deeds as well. But if our praying is in a bad condition, then thats what our deeds are too. You can make a Dua´a (say a prayer, not the salat itself) for Allah SWT during the prayers about anything you want, because he is the most Generous, most Merciful.

What does the prayers “give us”?

It gives us peace of mind, calm (or even serenity) and joy. It also brings us closer to Allah SWT. The Prophet Muhammad SAS said; “If there is a river by someones door, and he took a bath in it five times a day, would there then be any filth left on him?” The Prophet SAS meant that Allah SWT washes away our sins through our prayers. The Prophet SAS also said that when you make Wuduu´ properly (when you wash your self in a ordinated way before every prayer), and you pray your daily five, then your sins will fall down just like the leafs fall down from the trees. Look how Generous Allah SWT is! Through the prayers he forgive us our sins and also answers our Dua´as Inshallah.

What should I keep in mind when Im praying?

You should always strive to follow the examples of the Prophet Muhammad SAS, even in the prayers. You should stand, bend and move like the Prophet SAS did. It will make you feel like you are walking in the Prophets SAS footsteps, that you are following HIS sunnah. The Prophet Muhammad SAS said; “Pray as you have seen me pray.” You should stay concentrated during the prayers, making sure that you are praying correctly, and you should strive towards feeling “Khusho´o”. It means, amongst other things, serenity and humility. You can try to imagine that you are standing infront of Allah SWT when you are praying, The Master of the entire Universe. The Prophet SAS said that you should keep “death” in your mind during the Salat, then you will probably pray more focused and sharpened. The Prophet SAS also said that you should always pray like it is your last prayer. Always know what you say during the salat and always pray on time. That is very important. All of these examples helps you pray better Inshallah.

What are the Demands on a Muslim when he prayes?

You must have done Wuduu´, washed your self before prayer. You must have the intention of wanting to make Wuduu´ before making it, for it to count. Then you should say “Bismillah” (In Allahs SWT name – you dont say this if you are in a toilet or any other filthy area. You can think it in those situations instead of saying it).

 How to make Wuduu´

You start with washing your hands three times, you start with the right hand. Then you wash your mouth three times, and also your nose three times. You wash your face three times, then your entire arm three times, start with the right one (up to the elbows). Then you take your wet hands and let them strike your head all the way back to your neck, and back again. Wash the outside and the inside of your ears on time. The last thing you do is to wash your feet three times, up to the ancles. Start with the right foot. After the Wuduu´, you say the creed (Ashhadu an la ilaha ilAllah, wahdahu la sharika la, wa ashhadu anna Muhammedan abduhu wa-rasuluhu). If you do your Wuduu´ properly, and then you say the creed, all the Gates of Paradise will be open for you, and you will be able to walk through them all. Sobhanallah..

The place where you pray must be clean, and even your clothes and underware. You must pray in the right Qiblah, direction, which is towards Al Kabaa. It is a place on the Arabic peninsula, and the Kabaa it self is in a Mosque called Al masjid ul Haram. This Mosque was the first Mosque to ever be built in the entire world. It is very important that you pray all the prayers on time and that you have the intentions on praying the extra prayers also. You should also pray standing up, but if you are sick, or cant stand for any reason, you may pray sitting down. If you cant pray sitting down, you may lay down. If you cant move at all, you can pray by moving your eyes. Allah SWT did not make it hard for us to pray, Al Hamdullah, because HE is the All-Merciful. You should also cover your “awrah” completely, which is at least the area between the belly-button and the knees on the man. On the woman however, the “awrah” includes the entire body, except for the face and the hands. You should also have a “sutrah” infront of you when you pray. It could be anything, from a wall to a pillow. You put it infront of you, so that people can walk pass you while you pray. If you do not have a “sutrah” infront of you, people wont be able to walk pass you, except for when the distance is a bit further away between you. If someone try to walk pass you, and they did not walk on the other side of the “sutrah”, then you should stop them by lifting your arm against them, except for when it is a little kid.

Where should I pray, and where cant I pray?

The best place to pray for a woman is in her own home. The men should pray all the five prayers in the Mosque. The Prophet Muhammad SAS said; “Pray, Oh people, in your homes, since the most delicate prayer is a prayer inside your own home, except for the obligated prayers.” One of the Prophets SAS companions asked HIM if could have permission to stay home and pray, because he was old, blind and his house was far away from the Mosque, and he had nobody who could lead him to it. The Prophet Muhammad SAS asked him if he could hear the “Adhan” (The prayer Callings), and because he could hear them , he wasnt allowed to stay home. Now we understand how important it is for the men to pray at the Mosque. The best line to pray at, for the men, is the first line. If the men knew what the reward was for praying standing in the first line, they would all fight over it. If the humans knew what the reward was for anyone who goes and prays the morning prayers in the Mosque, Salat al Fajr, they would crawl to the Mosque, dragging their faces in the ground. Sobhanallah…You can pray anywhere you want, except for filthy and not sanitary places, like toilets, Cementarys, by a garbage-disposal, in any place where you slaughter animals, in the middle of a road, where camels rests and their waterholes and over the Ka´bah (the black square in the middle of the Mosque in Mecca).
